Rotellini Rides Wave of Donor Support
PHOENIX – The campaign of Felecia Rotellini announced today it has the resources it needs to fight and defeat opponent Tom Horne in the closing days of the election.
Following a month that saw a flood of contributions to Rotellin’s campaign, the Attorney General candidate will have at least $125,000 left to make her case to voters over the remaining week-and-a-half until Election Day. That does not take into account the thousands of dollars that keep pouring in as support for Rotellini continues to grow.
“It is a great feeling to know that Felecia’s message is resonating with so many Arizonans,” said Joanna Peters, Rotellini’s campaign manager. “Each dollar we’ve received represents a vote of confidence in Felecia’s ability to be the next great Attorney General of Arizona. Since Tom Horne can cut himself a check anytime he wants, we have to rely on our supporters to keep us in the fight. Fortunately, there are a lot of people out there who want to see us not only keep fighting, but win.”
As of the latest reporting period, even before last month’s deluge of donations, Rotellini’s contributions from supporters far outweighed Horne’s. She had raised $382,000 from individual donors as opposed to the $282,000 Horne has received, outstripping his total by $100,000, and anticipates the margin will grow. Meanwhile, Horne has continued his attempt to purchase the race, and has poured $345,000 into the campaign, meaning Tom Horne’s biggest supporter by far is… Tom Horne.
“Arizonans are sick and tired of politicians who think they can buy their way into office,” said Evan Brown, spokesman for the Rotellini campaign. “Tom Horne has demonstrated he can sink nearly $400,000 into his own campaign, but he hasn’t demonstrated to the voters that he has the qualifications and character it takes to be Attorney General. Arizonans know that Felecia Rotellini is the right choice for the state’s top law enforcement post, and all money in the world isn’t going to dupe them into picking Tom Horne.”
